在我国，采用优级纯、分析纯、化学纯三个级别表示的化学试剂，按照中华人民共和国国家标准和原化工部部颁标准，共计225种。这225种化学试剂以标准的形式，规定了我国的化学试剂含量的基础。其它化学品的含量测定都是以此为基准，通过测定来确定其含量。因此，这些化学试剂的质量就显得十分重要。同时，这225种化学试剂由于用途极为广泛而成为基本品种。这225个品种在化学试剂目录中均已标注。此外，还有特种试剂，生物试剂量极小，几乎是按需定产，其数量一般为用户所。
